The Location

The site is within walking distance of education facilities, convenience shops, healthcare providers, hospitality and leisure, outdoor space and importantly it has strong public transport connections.

Approximately one hectare in size, the site is located beyond the historic Rochester High Street, next to the High Street and Corporation Street, where they connect with Star Hill.

The site

This is an important point where old meets new as the historic High Street links to the more recently developed area.

It covers three parcels of land, which were mostly occupied by warehousing/industrial buildings, and are now empty, including:

  • The Northern Area is located alongside Corporation Street and the former garage.
  • The larger Central Area sits between Star Hill, Bardell Terrace, Furrell’s Road and High Street, next to the Old Crown Court.
  • The Southern Area, which is set back from the High Street, between Furrell’s Road and the Old Railway Station.

All three parcels of land are separated from the railway line by a green boundary. The majority of the site sits within the Star Hill to Sun Pier Conservation Zone.
